I paint and draw since I was a child ; but as I discovered the art of Chinese brush painting, it was love at first sight ! I received a lot of wise advice by my teacher Henry Xiaohui Li, in an international class of sumi-artists. My specialties are flowers and birds, landscapes and animals. I practice also calligraphy and seal carving.

I find inspiration in the art of ancient Masters or contemporary artists, but first of all in the Nature that I like to observe with sumi-eyes ! My motto is Learning from Nature.

Poetry lover, I feel close to the literati in the Chinese brush painting history. On the paper, I search the best way to create this unique harmony and balance between painting, poetic calligraphy, and seal. It is very important for me to work on the composition of a painting, using those 3 pillars of the Chinese brush art ! I work to reach this poetic equilibrium in each painting. Sumi-friends called me Chief Poetry Artist (Antoine aka CPA) !
